Freshbooks now supports multi-currency!
As I have discussed recently, one of the products we use at INBOX International inc. is Freshbooks. It manages all our invoices and our estimates with so much efficiency, it often hurts… Well, today, when I logged in on our account to prepare a new invoice, I just started to love it even more. They are now supporting multi-currency! It was only 5:17 AM and the Freshbooks gang just did my day!
When I discovered Freshbooks last year, even though they had an amazing product, one thing was missing: they did not support multi-currency. As an international company, we have to invoice our clients in different currency, mainly CAD, USA and Euros. So we had to have 3 different accounts to manage those different currencies. Which was a pain, but believe me, the rest was just simply amazing, it was worth the hassle.
But now, now, the problem is solved! From our main account, we can now create invoices and estimates in any currency we want! They even have an online currency converter! How great is that!
So we have a little sweat work ahead of us as I really want all our invoices in our 3 accounts to be merged in a single one so we can have a clear overview of everything. That will mean a lot of copy and pasting, but it’s definitely worth it!
Keep up the great work Freshbooks gang!
The multi-currency is a must-have feature imo, as business on the net is global anyway. During my time working for accounting departments and in banks, I did learn however that it’s extremely tricky to get right.
I’ll keep Freshbooks in mind. Now all I have to find is an accounting application that can do what it must do for the Belgian tax administration, and some clients
Hey David, nice to see you here ! Freshbooks is indeed awesome. Without it, we would loose so many hours every month invoicing client… And, well, you cannot do business without getting paid once in a while now can you ?
Regarding accounting software, I heard good things about Clarity Accounting (http://www.clarityaccounting.com/). Not sure about the Belgian tax things, but it’s definitely worth a try!
By the way, I just created a monthly newsletter for this site, using Mailchimp of course, so feel free to join in the right column here.
Cheers !
